Arunachal Pradesh Snowfall Alert has been issued as authorities released a travel advisory for Mayodia Pass following ongoing snowfall and increased tourist movement in the region.
The Lower Dibang Valley district police issued the advisory to ensure public safety, urging travellers to exercise caution while visiting the popular tourist destination amid challenging weather conditions.
What Is Happening In Dibang Valley District?
The Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, known for its scenic landscapes, is currently experiencing continuous snowfall. In response, the district police released a public advisory on February 16, 2026, highlighting safety concerns for visitors travelling to Mayodia Pass.
Superintendent of Police IPS Manisha Shaurya stated that only experienced drivers familiar with hilly and snow-bound terrain should travel towards Mayodia. Inexperienced drivers have been advised to avoid the route to prevent accidents and traffic disruptions.
The advisory also directed two-wheeler riders to ensure their vehicles are in proper mechanical condition, including sufficient fuel, functional brakes, and strong tyre grip. Travellers have been asked to carry essential safety equipment before beginning their journey.
Authorities have strictly instructed visitors and tourists not to park vehicles along the road to enjoy snowfall, warning that such actions could cause traffic congestion and hinder emergency operations.

Under the Arunachal Pradesh Snowfall Alert, drivers have been instructed to strictly follow traffic rules and regulations while travelling through the area. The advisory emphasises avoiding overspeeding, maintaining safe distances between vehicles, and refraining from rash driving.

In case of emergencies, travellers have been advised to immediately contact the officer in charge of Roing Police Station for assistance.
