Sikkim has added another milestone to its growing tourism success story after receiving the prestigious “Most Instagrammable Landscape – Hairpin Bends near Zuluk, Sikkim” award at the India Today Tourism Survey & Awards 2026 held in Goa.
The recognition celebrates the breathtaking series of hairpin bends near Zuluk in East Sikkim, a destination renowned for its panoramic Himalayan vistas, dramatic mountain roads, and immense popularity among travellers, photographers, and social media enthusiasts. The award further reinforces Sikkim’s reputation as one of India’s most captivating travel destinations.
The honour was presented by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant during the high-profile tourism awards ceremony. Representing the Government of Sikkim, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Tshering T. Bhutia received the award, accompanied by Sonam Norgay Lachungpa, Chairman of the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department.
Zuluk Hairpin Bends Gain National Recognition
Nestled in the rugged landscapes of East Sikkim, the Zuluk hairpin bends have become a major attraction for visitors seeking spectacular mountain scenery and unique travel experiences. During the event, Minister Tshering T. Bhutia also participated in a tourism conclave attended by policymakers, industry leaders, tourism experts, and stakeholders from across India.
